Arthur Sharenow

Arthur Sharenow, a consistent and perennial winner at monthly print competitions held by the prestigious Boston Camera Club is now a Famous Photographer in the SizzlPix! “From Ours” gallery.

Arthur has made his creative images all over the world in both personal travel and photography workshop participations. Following a 40-year professional career he retired to what he describes as “serious” photography in 1996. Arthur’s images span the globe, dozens of locations from Alaska to Africa to Antarctica.

He says, “I enjoy all aspects of photography.  I started with sports photography in my years as a Camp Director. On our first trip to Africa I fell in love with wild-life and nature photography.  I now see wildlife, sports and nature photography as opportunity shots.  I want to see as much of the world and its people as I possibly can and document it all with pictures.  I consider myself more a photo journalist than a photo artist.”

let us know what you think … journalist, artist, both?

Rob Hanson

Rob Hanson, an escapee from the left-brained corporate culture of the ’80s and ’90s set out to find a better outlet for his more creative inclinations. With his keen visual sense, he looked for various ways to demonstrate his vision. Over the years, he moved through various phases and media, including writing and fine woodworking, and eventually discovered that photography allowed for a more complete expression than anything else he had tried. Combining his long experience in the computer field with developing an artistic eye for seeing the world proved to be the perfect match.

Rob brings a unique perspective to his photography, along with a strong desire to make his images as close to perfect as possible. Often using High Dynamic Range (HDR) processing techniques to gather as much light from a scene as possible, his careful attention to detail in post-processing helps him to reach that goal. With new techniques and technologies continuing to unfold, it seems there are always new avenues to explore.

Rob currently lives in North Carolina and is also a partner in Integral Illusions, LLC, a decorative paint and plaster company. He is available for photography assignments — the more unusual, the better. When he’s not out gathering new exposure brackets, Rob likes to camp, hike, kayak, or go kayak surfing in his spare time.

You can contact Rob through either his website Rob Hanson Photography or his blog See… Learn… Share… where he freely shares various tips, hints, and tricks for HDR and post-processing.

Alan Plisskin

Alan Plisskin has been a full-time nature photographer, regularly publishing note cards and a calendar for more than a decade. His work can be seen at art festivals around the San Francisco Bay Area, and his limited edition prints are in collections throughout the world.

Alan mastered the art of Cibachrome printing, studying one-on-one with famed Chris Burkett, as well as studying the art of image capture with the late, renowned Galen Rowell.

He is committed to capturing his subjects in nature’s best light, even it means hiking miles before dawn or after sunset to be at the desired location at the perfect time. Many photographers specialize in one form of photography, macro, wildlife, etc., but Alan believes that all of nature is out there just waiting to be displayed in fine-art photography.

Recently, Alan has led photo trips/treks to India and Nepal and plans to lead a return to Nepal to get close, straight-on views of Mount Everest in October 2011. For more info on this tour and all of his activities, send Alan an email.
